During the Summer of 2009 Dougie was involved in a very special project in conjunction with Edradour Distillery, a new whisky called "Dougie MacLean's Caledonia".
He has had great fun being involved in the process, from choosing the first cask and watching the first bottling to sharing the finished product with friends and even audience members on the odd occasion!
Owned by Andrew Symington, Edradour is the smallest distilley in Scotland. The whisky is hand made today as it was over 100 years ago by just 3 men who are devoted to tradition and time honored methods. The Distillery is only just capable of producing commercial quantities - on average just 12 casks are produced each week, making Edradour single malt a rare pleasure for those who discover it.
Caledonia the whisky was officially launched at Edradour by Scotland's First Minister, Alex Salmond.
